2026 Hajj: Kebbi Celebrates NAHCON Golden Award, Credits Teamwork

The Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has celebrated its recognition as the recipient of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) Golden Award for outstanding performance during the 2026 Hajj exercise, attributing the achievement to the collective efforts of government officials, Hajj administrators and other stakeholders.
The agency received the honor during NAHCON’s post-Hajj stakeholders’ summit, where the Commission recognized states and individuals for excellence in various aspects of Hajj administration.
In a statement issued after the award presentation, the agency described the recognition as a reflection of the commitment and dedication demonstrated throughout the 2026 Hajj operations.
It said the award acknowledged Kebbi State’s performance in coordinating Hajj activities, including pilgrims’ welfare, transportation, accommodation, healthcare, logistics and overall service delivery during the pilgrimage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The agency noted that the recognition followed what it described as a successful Hajj operation in which all 4,256 pilgrims from the state returned safely, with no deaths recorded throughout the exercise.

It also credited the support of Governor Nasir Idris for creating an enabling environment that strengthened the operations of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency and enhanced services provided to intending pilgrims.
The Executive Chairman of the agency, Dr. Faruku Aliyu Yaro, dedicated the award to the state government, members of the Hajj delegation, agency staff, security personnel, medical teams, volunteers, media partners and other stakeholders who contributed to the success of the 2026 pilgrimage.
He said the honor belonged to everyone who worked tirelessly before, during and after the Hajj to ensure that Kebbi pilgrims received quality services and completed their spiritual journey successfully.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining high standards in Hajj administration, pledging to build on the experience of the 2026 exercise and continue improving services for pilgrims in future operations.
NAHCON presented the Golden Award as part of its recognition of outstanding performances by state pilgrims’ welfare boards and other stakeholders during the 2026 Hajj exercise.
