NAHCON Honors Top-Performing States, Staff at 2026 Hajj Awards

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has honored outstanding State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, staff members and partner institutions for exceptional performance during the 2026 Hajj operation.
The awards, presented at the close of the 2026 Post-Hajj Stakeholders’ Summit, recognized excellence in service delivery, innovation, operational efficiency and commitment to pilgrims’ welfare.
Kebbi State emerged as the Best State in ICT and Innovation, while Nasarawa State received the award for Best State in Pilgrims’ Welfare.
Lagos State won the Best State in Organization and Coordination category, with Adamawa State taking the award for Pilgrim Education and Enlightenment.
Niger State was recognized for Discipline and Conduct, Ogun State received the award for Logistics Compliance, Kogi State emerged best in Hajj Savings Scheme Operations, while Kano State was honored for Administrative Efficiency.
Edo State also received a special commendation for patience, perseverance and coordination throughout the 2026 Hajj exercise.

Beyond the state awards, NAHCON recognized dozens of its officials for exemplary contributions across various operational units.
The awards covered personnel serving in the Command-and-Control Centre, ICT, the National Medical Team, National Media Team, National Ulama Committee, Monitoring and Evaluation Committee, Passport Management and Control Committees.
Others include, Feeding Committees, Accommodation Committees, the Tour Operators Committee, Mashariq Support Committee, NRT Committee and other specialized Hajj units.
NAHCON honored the recipients in categories including Diligence and Reliability, Outstanding Professionalism, Exemplary Service, Innovation in ICT, Courage and Tenacity, Extraordinary Commitment to Duty, and Dedication to Pilgrims’ Welfare during the 2026 Hajj operation.
The Commission also presented special institutional recognition awards to the National Medical Team, Central Security Committee, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), the National Media Team, the Command-and-Control Centre and the Commission’s ICT Department for their professionalism and support throughout the pilgrimage.
The awards formed part of the closing activities of the stakeholders’ summit, where NAHCON reviewed the successes and challenges of the 2026 Hajj and reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening service delivery, accountability and collaboration ahead of the 2027 pilgrimage.
