2026 Hajj: 95% of Gombe Pilgrims Medically Cleared, Board Confirms

The Gombe State Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board has stated that it is making steady progress in preparations for the 2026 Hajj, confirming that 95 percent of intending pilgrims have completed their mandatory medical screening.
The Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Sa’adu Hassan, disclosed this in an interview with Hajj Gazette on the state’s readiness.
He noted that the few outstanding cases are pilgrims whose documentation is being processed at the request of the state government.
According to him, the Board has transitioned into the next operational phase, which includes passport submission and biometric data capturing for intending pilgrims.

Alhaji Hassan emphasized that the Board remains firmly on schedule and is strategically positioned to meet the February deadline set for the completion of pilgrims’ data capturing, a critical requirement for onward Hajj logistics and coordination.
He reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to ensuring full compliance with national and international Hajj requirements, stressing that all processes are being executed in line with laid-down guidelines to guarantee a smooth and hitch-free pilgrimage for pilgrims from Gombe State.
