Kebbi State Commences Health Checks for 2026 Hajj Pilgrims

The Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (PWA) has officially launched the mandatory medical screening for intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj. The exercise marks a critical early phase in the state’s preparatory timeline.
The flag-off ceremony was held at the Kauran Gwandu Hajj Camp in Birnin Kebbi, where the Agency’s Chairman, Alhaji Faruku Aliyu Yaro, personally oversaw the screening of the first batch of pilgrims.
The initial group comprised pilgrims from Birnin Kebbi, Kalgo, and Bunza Local Government Areas.
The comprehensive health checks are designed to ensure all prospective pilgrims from the state meet the stringent health and regulatory standards set by Saudi Arabian authorities well in advance of their departure.
This pre-emptive measure aims to identify and address any potential health concerns, thereby facilitating a smoother travel process and reducing risks during the pilgrimage.
Addressing participants, Alhaji Yaro reaffirmed the agency’s unwavering commitment to providing a seamless and well-coordinated Hajj experience for all Kebbi State pilgrims.
He emphasized that the early commencement underscores the administration’s dedication to thorough planning and underscores the importance of pilgrim welfare, ensuring that every individual is physically prepared for the spiritual journey ahead.
The screening exercise is expected to continue in batches across the state in the coming days.
