UPDATE: NAHCON Confirms Completion of 2026 Hajj Accommodation

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has confirmed the completion of accommodation arrangements for Nigerian pilgrims participating in the 2026 Hajj in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah.
The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, said the accommodation process was concluded ahead of deadlines set by Saudi Arabian authorities, following the successful upload, approval, and acceptance of all contracts by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
According to Professor Usman, the early completion aligns with a directive of the Vice President Kashim Shettima, that all critical Hajj preparations must be finalized within approved Saudi timelines to protect Nigeria’s operational interests and credibility.
He acknowledged the guidance and support of the Vice President throughout the process and commended the high-level NAHCON delegation deployed to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for providing executive oversight that ensured timely closure of the accommodation arrangements.
The NAHCON Chairman also recognized the contributions of the Commission’s Board, the Nusuk Masar team, the leadership of the Forum of State Pilgrims Welfare Boards, NAHCON management and staff, as well as other relevant stakeholders involved in the process.
With the completion of accommodation arrangements in both holy cities, Nigeria has secured one of the most critical components of the 2026 Hajj and is now positioned among countries that met Saudi regulatory requirements within the prescribed timelines.
NAHCON stated that the milestone significantly reduces the risk of logistical disruptions associated with late contracting and provides a stable foundation for subsequent phases of the 2026 Hajj preparations.
The Commission confirmed that it has now moved into the next phase of operational planning, assuring stakeholders and intending pilgrims of its continued commitment to early preparation, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of a smooth and hitch-free 2026 Hajj.
