Saudi Update: Governor Aliyu Approves SR1,000 Sallah Package for Each Sokoto Pilgrims

Sokoto State Governor, Ahmad Aliyu, has approved a Sallah welfare package of SR1,000 for each of the 2,410 pilgrims from the state currently performing the 2026 Hajj in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The announcement was made by the Amirul Hajj and leader of the Sokoto State 2026 Hajj delegation, Alhaji Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, during the delivery of his Sallah message to pilgrims at the Sokoto pilgrims’ camp in Mina.
The Head of Information and Communications of the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Faruku Umar disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday.
Dingyadi, who is also the Minister of Labor and Productivity, said the gesture reflects Governor Ahmad Aliyu’s commitment to the welfare, comfort, and wellbeing of Sokoto pilgrims throughout the Hajj exercise.
He urged the pilgrims to reciprocate the governor’s support by offering prayers for sustained peace, unity, stability, and development in Sokoto State and Nigeria at large.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Aliyu Musa, disclosed that all 2,410 pilgrims from the state successfully completed the major Hajj rites.
He commended Governor Ahmad Aliyu for his consistent support to the agency and pilgrims, describing the administration’s intervention as instrumental to the smooth conduct of the 2026 Hajj operations.
The chairman also praised the Sokoto State Government Hajj delegation led by Alhaji Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi, members of the board, agency staff, and committee members for their dedication and commitment, which he said contributed significantly to the successes recorded during the exercise.
