The Gombe State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the death of one of its pilgrims participating in the 2026 Hajj exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The deceased, identified as Alhaji Babawuro Abdulkadir from Gombe Local Government Area of Gombe State, reportedly died after a brief illness.

According to a statement issued by the information officer of the board, Mohammed Mohammed, the pilgrim passed away at Muzdalifah shortly after the Ishai prayer, moments after returning from the plains of Arafat where pilgrims observed the major Hajj rite.

The board prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased, grant him eternal rest, and comfort his family and loved ones during the difficult period.

The death comes as thousands of pilgrims from across the world continue the spiritual rites of the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.
