Saudi Unveils Rabigh Qadeena Project to Enhance Pilgrimage Experience in Mina

Saudi Arabia has inaugurated the Rabigh Qadeena project in Mina, marking a significant infrastructure upgrade aimed at improving safety, comfort, and operational efficiency for pilgrims during the annual Hajj.
The large-scale development comprises 62 residential buildings spread across approximately 33,000 square meters, with the capacity to accommodate up to 30,000 pilgrims.
The newly commissioned facility is in close proximity to the Jamarat Bridge, one of the most critical ritual sites during the pilgrimage.
Each tower within the complex features integrated facilities, including dedicated prayer halls, dining areas, medical clinics, and advanced cooling systems that mitigate extreme temperatures and enhance overall welfare for occupants.
Authorities stated that the project incorporates separate pedestrian and bus corridors, alongside real-time crowd-monitoring technology, to streamline movement and reduce congestion around the Jamarat area, an enduring focal point for crowd management efforts.
Meanwhile, authorities have commenced large-scale cleaning operations of tents across Mina as international pilgrims begin arriving on Saturday, in preparation for the peak Hajj period.
The Rabigh Qadeena project reflects Saudi Arabia’s strategic shift to modernize accommodation infrastructure in Mina, gradually transitioning from traditional tent-based setups to permanent, high-capacity residential towers.
Officials say the initiative is expected to strengthen safety protocols, optimize logistics, and deliver a more structured and secure pilgrimage environment.
