Lagos Opens 2027 Hajj Registration, Fixes 7m Initial Deposit

The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced registration for the 2027/1448AH Hajj exercise, announcing an initial deposit of N7 million for intending pilgrims and setting September 2026 as the registration deadline.
The Board also fixed the cost of the Hajj application form at N20,000, payable at its Accounts Department, as preparations for the next pilgrimage gather momentum.
According to an official notice issued by the Board, prospective pilgrims must obtain a bank draft from any commercial bank in favour of the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.
Applicants must submit the bank draft to the Accounts Department, collect an official receipt and complete their registration.
The Board said the 2027 Hajj package includes visits to historical Islamic sites in Makkah and Madinah, spiritual counselling and guidance, accommodation located close to the Grand Mosque, comfortable local transportation, medical and health benefits, as well as daily breakfast and dinner throughout the pilgrimage.

The agency encouraged Muslims intending to perform the pilgrimage to register early to secure their places ahead of the deadline.
It also assured pilgrims of organized services designed to provide a smooth and spiritually rewarding Hajj experience.
To reinforce the religious significance of the pilgrimage, the Board quoted Qur’an 22:27, which calls on believers to undertake Hajj from every distant land.
The Board described Lagos as an ideal choice for pilgrims seeking a well-coordinated pilgrimage, saying it delivers a fulfilling, acceptable and rewarding Hajj experience through its comprehensive services.
It also urged intending pilgrims and members of the public to contact its dedicated telephone lines for additional information.
The announcement places Lagos among the states that have formally launched registration for the 2027 Hajj exercise as preparations continue nationwide ahead of the pilgrimage.
