Kaduna Agency Reviews 2026 Hajj, Sets Agenda for 2027

The Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has reviewed its performance during the 2026 Hajj exercise and outlined key priorities for the 2027 pilgrimage, reaffirming its commitment to delivering more efficient and transparent services to intending pilgrims.
The Agency presented its assessment on Thursday during a special Hajj review program organized by Freedom Radio Kano.
The program brought together representatives of State Pilgrims Welfare Boards and Agencies from across the country to evaluate the 2026 pilgrimage and discuss strategies for improving future operations.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Ibrahim Datti disclosed this in a statement.
Representing the Executive Chairman of the Agency, Malam Salihu S. Abubakar, the Director of Operations, Alhaji Abubakar Usman Yusuf, described the 2026 Hajj as one of the most successful in the Agency’s history.
He attributed the achievement to meticulous planning, effective coordination and the support of the Kaduna State Government under Governor Uba Sani.
Yusuf highlighted several milestones recorded during the exercise, including the successful departure and safe return of all Kaduna pilgrims, zero pilgrim deaths, seamless outbound and inbound airlift operations, and the provision of quality accommodation, transportation, feeding and medical services in Saudi Arabia.

He also said the Agency transparently refunded unutilized foreign exchange to eligible pilgrims following the subsidized exchange rate provided through the Central Bank of Nigeria.
According to him, the Agency strengthened its operations through efficient documentation and screening, transparent administration and an effective Public Address System at the Mando Hajj Transit Camp and Mina, which improved communication and facilitated the recovery of lost items.
Yusuf further praised the Agency’s media and public communication strategy, noting that regular press briefings, news releases and social media updates kept pilgrims and the public informed throughout the pilgrimage.
He added that pilgrims and stakeholders widely commended the Agency’s performance, with the leader of the Kaduna State Hajj delegation describing the exercise as the best he had witnessed in more than 45 years.
The Agency said it would build on the successes of the 2026 exercise while working with stakeholders to strengthen planning and service delivery for the 2027 Hajj.
