Kebbi Agency Convenes Stakeholders Meeting Ahead of 2026 Hajj Screening

The Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has convened a stakeholders’ meeting to address critical operational and compliance issues ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The meeting, held on Sunday at the Kauran Gwandu Hajj Camp in Birnin Kebbi, brought together the management of the agency, board members, Hajj guides, and medical personnel as preparations intensified for the commencement of pilgrims’ screening.
Presiding over the session, the Executive Chairman of the agency, Alhaji Faruku Aliyu Yaro, said the engagement was aimed at aligning all stakeholders with Saudi Arabian Hajj guidelines and ensuring a seamless screening process.
He announced that the screening of intending pilgrims would commence on Monday, January 26, 2026, with Birnin Kebbi serving as the take-off point.
According to him, the medical screening will cover tuberculosis (TB), hypertension, kidney-related conditions, psychological assessment, pregnancy tests, and other mandatory evaluations required by Saudi authorities.
“Any intending pilgrim who fails to comply with the stipulated Saudi Arabian guidelines will not be allowed to perform the 2026 Hajj,” Yaro stated.
The chairman further directed pilgrims to submit their international passports on or before Thursday, January 28, 2026, noting that the Hajj portal would close on January 30, 2026, without exception.
