Kano Pilgrims Board Kicks Off Early Preparations for 2026 Hajj, Appoints 60 Induction Teachers

In a move aimed at ensuring a smooth and well-coordinated 2026 Hajj exercise, the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has selected about 60 qualified teachers to conduct weekly Hajj induction classes for intending pilgrims across the state.
The selection was announced during an interactive meeting held at the Board’s headquarters in Kano, according to a statement issued by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Dederi.
Speaking at the meeting, the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, explained that the teachers would be deployed to ten designated induction centres to provide comprehensive training and guidance to pilgrims ahead of the holy journey. He noted that early preparation remains a key strategy in achieving a successful and hitch-free Hajj operation.
The designated induction centres are located at the School for Arabic Studies in Ungogo Local Government Area, as well as Gwarzo, Bichi, Rimin-Gado, Wudil, Gezawa, Kura, Rano and Tudun Wada local government areas.
Represented at the meeting by the Head of Bita and Board Member, Malam Tijjani Sani Maihula, the Director General urged the selected instructors to approach their assignment with dedication, discipline and a strong sense of responsibility. He stressed that proper orientation of pilgrims plays a critical role in minimizing challenges during the Hajj and enhancing overall performance.
Also addressing the gathering, the Director of Propagation, Education and Enlightenment, Alhaji Murtala Lawan Sani, charged the teachers to uphold the standards of the Board and provide accurate guidance on Hajj rites in line with Islamic principles and regulations set by relevant authorities.
Alhaji Murtala further reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to early planning, capacity building and continuous enlightenment, describing the induction programme as part of sustained efforts to improve the welfare, preparedness and spiritual fulfilment of Kano State pilgrims during the 2026 Hajj exercise.
