Kaduna Pilgrims Intensify Enlightenment Programme with Practical Hajj Exercise in Zaria
By Abdulrazaq Auwal
The Kaduna State pilgrims’ enlightenment campaign has gained momentum with the conduct of a practical Hajj exercise in Zaria, as authorities ramp up preparations for the 2026 pilgrimage.
The exercise, held at the Zaria Local Government Pilgrims Registration Centre, forms part of the ongoing “Bita” public enlightenment programme designed to equip intending pilgrims with hands-on knowledge of Hajj rites and procedures.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Ibrahim Datti.
He explained that the initiative is being implemented across all 23 local government areas of the state, alongside activities at the headquarters of the agency.

Datti stated that the programme is structured to bridge knowledge gaps by combining theoretical guidance with practical demonstrations, ensuring that pilgrims are well-prepared for both the spiritual and logistical demands of the pilgrimage.

According to the PRO, the Zaria session was led by the agency’s Director of Public Enlightenment, Malam Abubakar Alhassan, in collaboration with the Local Registration Officer, Hajiya Hauwa Musa Sidi.
Stakeholders noted that the practical sessions have become a critical component of the enlightenment drive, providing participants with real-time exposure to key Hajj rituals and reinforcing compliance with laid-down procedures.
The Bita programme, now in its 12th week, continues to serve as a strategic platform for preparing Kaduna’s intending pilgrims ahead of their departure for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
