Gombe Pilgrims Board to Resumes BITA Program for 2026 Hajj

The Gombe State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced date for the resumption of its Education, Orientation and Enlightenment Program (BITA) exercise for intending pilgrims ahead of the 2026 Hajj.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Executive Secretary of the the Board, Alhaji Sa’adu Hassan, disclosed that the exercise will resume on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
According to him, the resumption followed the conclusion of the mid-term break declare for Ramadan fasting period.
The Bita process, a core component of Hajj preparations in Nigeria, is designed to provide pilgrims with comprehensive orientation on Hajj rites, documentation screening, and compliance checks.
It serves as a critical quality assurance mechanism to ensure that all intending pilgrims meet the regulatory, health, and logistical requirements set by both Nigerian authorities and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Stakeholders note that effective sensitisation significantly reduces operational bottlenecks during the Hajj season.
Through structured briefings, pilgrims are educated on rites performance, travel protocols, health guidelines, and behavioral expectations while in the Kingdom.
This proactive engagement minimizes avoidable errors, enhances coordination, and strengthens adherence to international travel and religious guidelines.
The Board highlighted that participation in the exercise is mandatory especially for a first-time registered pilgrim, as it directly impacts their eligibility and readiness for the pilgrimage.

Officials further stressed that fully sensitized pilgrims and early compliance with all requirements enables efficient grouping, and streamlined deployment logistics.
By prioritising the sensitisation, the Gombe State Pilgrims Welfare Board aims to align its operations with global best practices, ensuring that pilgrims from the state are adequately prepared both spiritually and administratively.
The Board urged intending pilgrims to attend promptly and cooperate fully, while offering prayers for a successful and accepted Hajj for all participants.
