2026 Hajj: Gombe Pilgrims Board Declares Mid-Term Break for BITA Program

The Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has declared a mid-term break in the ongoing Pilgrims Education, Orientation and Enlightenment Program (BITA) for intending pilgrims from the state.
The decision, according to the Board, is aimed at allowing participants to fully observe the forthcoming holy month of Ramadan, while sustaining momentum in the state’s Hajj preparedness framework.
The mid-term break will enable intending pilgrims to concentrate on spiritual obligations before resuming the program after the Sallah festivities with renewed focus and discipline.
Speaking at the closing ceremony held at the Government Arabic College (ATC), Gombe, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Sa’adu Hassan, through the Head of Department, BITA, Malam Maiwada Dahiru, commended the high turnout and level of engagement recorded during the sessions.
He urged participants to internalize the lessons learned and apply them in practice, noting that the training is designed to shape conduct, deepen understanding of Hajj rites, and ensure compliance with established guidelines.
He further explained that the BITA program remains a strategic capacity-building initiative, where seasoned scholars and subject-matter experts provide structured guidance on the dos and don’ts of the Hajj rituals, ethical conduct, and collective responsibility of pilgrims.
The Board also acknowledged the support of the Gombe State Government, particularly the timely financial intervention by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, which it described as instrumental to the smooth implementation of the program.
