The Imam of the Grand Mosque in Makkah, Sheikh Osama Khayyat, has urged Muslims preparing for Hajj and Umrah to prioritise lawful earnings, sincere repentance and righteous conduct alongside the practical arrangements for their pilgrimage.
Delivering the Friday sermon at the Grand Mosque, Sheikh Khayyat said true reliance on Allah requires both firm faith and proactive effort, stressing that believers must pursue their needs through legitimate and ethical means.
His message comes as Muslims begin preparations for the 2027 Hajj season, offering intending pilgrims a reminder that preparation for the sacred journey extends beyond registration, payments, documentation and travel arrangements.
The Imam cautioned against corrupt transactions and unlawful sources of income, highlighting the importance of ensuring that wealth used to undertake Hajj or Umrah is obtained through legitimate means.
