The Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has organized a farewell ceremony in honour of its retiring Chief Accountant, Alhaji Abdulhamid Jibrin Abubakar, marking the conclusion of his 35 years of dedicated and meritorious service.

 

The send-off (Walima) was held under the leadership of the Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Sa’adu Hassan and was attended by management staff, colleagues, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the long-standing commitment and professional contributions of the retiree.

 

In his remarks, the Executive Secretary congratulated Alhaji Abdulhamid on his retirement and commended him for his unwavering support, tireless efforts, and consistent dedication to duty throughout his career.

He described the retiring Chief Accountant as a man of integrity, honesty, and straightforwardness in the discharge of his responsibilities, noting that his legacy of professionalism would remain a benchmark for others to emulate. Alhaji Hassan wished him success in his post-retirement life and prayed that the new chapter would bring him joy, peace, and fulfilment.

 

Also speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary of the Teachers Service Commission, Alhaji Shu’aibu Ibrahim, alongside Alhaji Buhari Dotti of the DAF Final Account Inspectorate and Alhaji Adamu Ustaz of A & A Motors, congratulated the retiree on his successful career.

 

They praised his years of service and prayed for good health, divine guidance, and continued success in his future endeavours.

In his response, Alhaji Abdulhamid Jibrin Abubakar expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting him the wisdom, strength, and opportunity to serve effectively throughout his career.

 

He thanked the management and staff of the Board for their support over the years and sought forgiveness from colleagues for any shortcomings during his service, stating that he had, in turn, forgiven everyone. He concluded with prayers for collective forgiveness and continued unity among all.

 

The ceremony climaxed with the presentation of a special gift to the retiree as a token of appreciation, symbolizing goodwill, love, and enduring unity beyond his years in active service.
