Edo Hajj Pilgrims Tour Historic Sites in Makkah

Edo State pilgrims participating in the 2026 Hajj in Saudi Arabia have toured some of Islam’s most significant historical sites in Makkah as part of activities marking the final phase of their pilgrimage.
The tour, organized by the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, took the pilgrims to key landmarks associated with the life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and other important events in Islamic history.
Among the sites visited were the Cave of Hira, where the Prophet received the first revelation of the Holy Qur’an; the Cave of Thawr, where he and Abu Bakr (RA) sought refuge during the Hijrah; and Jabal Al-Rahmah (Mount of Mercy) in Arafat.
The Chairman of the Board, Mallam Musa Muhammad Uduimoh, said the excursion was designed to deepen the pilgrims’ understanding of Islamic history and strengthen their spiritual experience.
He noted that visiting the historic sites offered pilgrims an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices and dedication of the Prophets in spreading the message of Islam.
Uduimoh reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to providing Edo pilgrims with a rewarding Hajj experience that combines the performance of religious rites with knowledge of Islam’s rich heritage.
The pilgrims expressed appreciation to the Board for facilitating the tour, describing it as enlightening, inspiring and spiritually uplifting.
The visit formed part of the post-Hajj activities organized for Edo pilgrims ahead of their scheduled return to Nigeria.
