Edo Hajj Board Chairman Dedicates NAHCON Award to Governor

The Chairman of the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mallam Musa Muhammad Uduimoh, has dedicated the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) award for outstanding performance in the 2026 Hajj exercise to Governor of Edo State, describing the recognition as a product of the administration’s support for the Board.
Uduimoh made the remarks after receiving the award alongside the Board’s Executive Secretary, Alhaji Eranga Abdulkabir Muhammadkabir, during the 2026 Hajj Review and NAHCON Reform Agenda Stakeholders’ Summit held on Wednesday at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja.
The award recognized the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board for its outstanding coordination, resilience and commitment to excellence during the 2026 Hajj operations.
Speaking after the presentation, Uduimoh said the honor reflected the collective efforts of the Edo State Government, the Board’s management and staff, as well as other stakeholders who contributed to the successful conduct of the pilgrimage.
“This award is dedicated to the Governor of Edo State, whose strong support made this achievement possible,” he said.

He added that the recognition would serve as motivation for the Board to strengthen its operations, improve service delivery and sustain high standards in the welfare and management of intending pilgrims from the state.
NAHCON Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf, presented the award and commended Edo State for its exemplary performance during the 2026 Hajj exercise.
Yusuf said the state’s effective coordination, discipline and commitment to pilgrims’ welfare distinguished it among participating states and contributed to the overall success of the pilgrimage.
The summit, themed “Repositioning Nigeria’s Hajj Industry as a Model of Service Excellence,” brought together Hajj administrators, state pilgrims’ boards, tour operators and other stakeholders to review the 2026 Hajj operations and discuss reforms aimed at improving Hajj administration in Nigeria.
The latest recognition adds to Edo State’s growing reputation for efficient Hajj administration and reinforces the Board’s commitment to transparency, accountability and quality service delivery for Muslim pilgrims.
