Bangladesh Opens Preliminary Registration for 2027 Hajj on Monday

The Bangladesh government has announced that preliminary registration for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage will commence on Monday, with intending pilgrims expected to complete the exercise before the September 24 deadline.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs disclosed the timetable on Sunday, saying the registration schedule aligns with the Hajj roadmap issued by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to ensure timely preparation for the pilgrimage.
According to the ministry, prospective pilgrims may register through either the government or private Hajj management system by depositing Tk 350,000 during the preliminary registration period.
Applicants who successfully complete the initial registration must pay the balance of their selected Hajj package and conclude final registration on or before December 10.
The ministry explained that intending pilgrims are required to complete a pre-registration process by first depositing Tk 30,000 before proceeding with the preliminary registration.
Pilgrims opting for the government scheme can register online through the e-Hajj portal or at Union Digital Centres, divisional and district offices, the Baitul Mukarram office, district and upazila model mosques, and the Dhaka Hajj Office.

Those registering under the government arrangement must pay the required amount through any Sonali Bank branch using an official voucher, while applicants using private Hajj agencies are expected to deposit their payments into the agencies’ designated bank accounts listed on the Hajj portal.
The ministry also announced strict eligibility requirements for the pilgrimage. Children below 15 years will not be permitted to perform Hajj, while individuals suffering from serious heart, lung, liver or kidney diseases, neurological or mental disorders, dementia, active cancer treatment, or infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and haemorrhagic fever are ineligible.
Women in the final two months of pregnancy or with high-risk pregnancies will also be excluded from participation.
Applicants must possess passports valid until at least December 31, 2027. Earlier this month, the government fixed the 2027 Hajj fare at Tk 615,263 for the maximum package and Tk 505,648 for the minimum package.
