Update: Gombe Reaffirms May 4, 5 Departure Dates for 2026 Hajj

The Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has reaffirmed that the first and second batches of intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj will depart on May 4 and May 5, respectively.
This stated in an operational update provided by the Information Officer of the board, Mohammad G. Mohammad.
The confirmation comes as the Board finalizes arrangements for its official farewell ceremony, scheduled to hold on Monday at the Board’s head office in Gombe, marking the transition into the final phase of outbound pilgrimage operations.
The Board had assured that all arrangements for the initial flights remain firmly on track, with logistics and coordination frameworks already activated to ensure a seamless departure process for pilgrims.
The staggered movement, according to officials, is designed to enhance efficiency and manage passenger flow in line with aviation and Hajj protocols.
The Board reiterated its readiness to deliver a hitch-free operation and advised intending pilgrims to comply strictly with reporting timelines and travel guidelines as the departure dates approach.
The update underscores the state’s continued alignment with national Hajj mobilization efforts, as authorities intensify final preparations for the annual pilgrimage.
