Sokoto Concludes 2026 Hajj Operations as Final Batch of Pilgrims Returns

The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has successfully concluded the 2026 Hajj operation with the return of the final batch of pilgrims from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The last group, comprising 193 pilgrims, departed Saudi Arabia and arrived safely in Nigeria, marking the completion of the airlift exercise for all pilgrims from Sokoto State who participated in this year’s pilgrimage.
Chairman of the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Aliyu Musa, announced the successful conclusion of the operation and expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting the pilgrims a safe and successful Hajj as well as a peaceful return to their families and communities.
He noted that the completion of the return flights signified the end of a major religious exercise that saw thousands of Muslims from the state travel to the holy land to perform the sacred rites of Hajj.
Alhaji Musa commended the Sokoto State Government for its support throughout the exercise and acknowledged the contributions of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), officials of the Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Islamic scholars, medical personnel, and other stakeholders who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the pilgrimage.
According to him, the collective efforts of all parties involved played a significant role in facilitating the smooth movement, welfare, and safe return of pilgrims during the 2026 Hajj season.
The agency chairman also praised the commitment and professionalism demonstrated by the various teams deployed to support the pilgrims both in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
With the return of the final batch, all Sokoto pilgrims have now completed their spiritual journey and reunited with their families after fulfilling one of the most important obligations of Islam.
Alhaji Musa prayed for Allah to accept the Hajj of all pilgrims and reward them abundantly for their devotion and sacrifice.
