Saudi Update: Zulum Donates Rams to 1,725 Borno Pilgrims for Hadaya

Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has approved the provision of sacrificial rams (Hadayah) for 1,725 indigent pilgrims from the state currently performing the 2026 Hajj exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The intervention covers pilgrims under the Hajj al-Tamattu and Hajj al-Qiran categories, where the Hadaya is a required ritual.
The sacrifice, performed during the Days of Tashreeq (10th–12th Dhul Hijjah), is carried out in line with Islamic injunctions and established Shariah guidelines.
The Hadaya ritual, which commemorates the devotion of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), forms a key component of the Hajj rites. It also carries a welfare dimension, with meat distributed to the needy within the holy cities.
In addition to the sacrificial provision, the governor approved the distribution of Ihram garments for male pilgrims and khimar (head coverings) for female pilgrims.
He also settled accommodation differentials to improve lodging conditions for members of the Borno contingent in Makkah.
Officials noted that this marks a continuation of Zulum’s recurring support for indigent pilgrims across multiple Hajj seasons, aimed at ensuring full participation in essential rites without financial constraints.
Governor Zulum further urged the pilgrims to intensify prayers for sustained peace, stability, and socio-economic development in Borno State and Nigeria at large.
