Riyadh Air Expands International Network with Three New Overseas Destinations

Saudi Arabia’s new national carrier, Riyadh Air, has begun selling tickets for three additional international destinations as it accelerates the expansion of its global network under the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 strategy.
The airline announced that it will launch flights to Kuala Lumpur on July 30, Malaga on July 14 and Dhaka on August 7, increasing its international network to nine destinations within weeks of commencing commercial operations.
The latest expansion follows the airline’s inaugural commercial flight on June 10, when flight RX401 departed King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh for London Heathrow aboard the carrier’s new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
The service marked the commercial debut of Riyadh Air’s Dreamliner fleet and a significant milestone in Saudi Arabia’s drive to strengthen its aviation industry and enhance global connectivity.
Riyadh Air also recently expanded its regional operations by introducing twice-daily Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner flights between Riyadh and Cairo, with services commencing on June 25.

Owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), Riyadh Air was established to support the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 economic diversification agenda and transform Riyadh into a leading global aviation hub.
The airline plans to connect Saudi Arabia with more than 100 destinations worldwide by 2030 through an expanding fleet of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners and additional aircraft scheduled for future delivery.
Before launching commercial operations, Riyadh Air conducted daily flights to London using a reserve aircraft under its “Pathway to Perfect” operational readiness program.
The initiative enabled the airline to evaluate passenger services, operational procedures and overall readiness before deploying its new Dreamliner fleet on scheduled commercial routes.
Meanwhile some stakeholders and observers in the industry say the addition of Kuala Lumpur, Malaga and Dhaka will strengthen Saudi Arabia’s air links with key markets in Europe, Southeast Asia and South Asia while supporting the Kingdom’s broader ambitions to become a major international travel and aviation gateway.
