Part Payment Not Allowed for 2027 Hajj — Ghana Warns

The Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) has warned intending pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj against making part or half payments, directing them to pay the full approved fare of GH¢60,000 (about N7.45 million).
The directive was contained in a public notice issued by the PAOG Communications Directorate, which stated that no part payment of the 2027 Hajj fare would be accepted.
According to the notice, intending pilgrims must pay the full GH¢60,000 only through accredited Hajj agents or designated PAOG accounts with GCB Bank.
The office further warned that any part or half payment made towards the pilgrimage would not be recognised and would be refunded.
“No part payment of Hajj 2027 fare is allowed,” the PAOG stated, urging pilgrims to comply strictly with the approved payment arrangement.

The directive also reinforces the importance of using authorised channels for Hajj-related financial transactions, as the office specifically restricted payments to accredited Hajj agents and PAOG’s designated GCB accounts.
The warning is expected to help prevent pilgrims from falling victim to unauthorised payment arrangements and reduce disputes arising from incomplete payments as preparations for the 2027 pilgrimage intensify.
The PAOG urged prospective pilgrims to verify the accreditation of Hajj agents before making payments and to ensure that transactions are conducted through the approved channels.
The GH¢60,000 fare announced by the Ghanaian pilgrimage authority represents the amount pilgrims are required to pay under the stated payment directive.
The notice, however, did not indicate whether additional charges could apply for services outside the approved fare.
The development comes as pilgrimage authorities across West Africa step up preparations for the 2027 Hajj, with prospective pilgrims being urged to comply with official registration, payment and documentation requirements to avoid complications ahead of the pilgrimage.
