Edo Announces 2027 Hajj Fare, Reduces Cost for Pilgrims

The Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced a final fare of N7,882,822 for intending pilgrims from the state for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage.
The new fare, approved by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), represents a reduction from the previously announced N7,991,141.76, bringing the cost down by N108,319.76 per pilgrim.
The Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Abdulkabir Muhammadkabir Eranga, announced the revised fare in a statement issued after a crucial meeting between the leadership of NAHCON and executives of State Pilgrims Welfare Boards.
According to the statement, the decision followed deliberations involving the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NAHCON, Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf, and representatives of the various state pilgrim’s welfare boards.
The Board said the revised figure constitutes the final approved fare for Edo State pilgrims participating in the 2027 Hajj.
It urged all intending pilgrims who have registered for the pilgrimage to take note of the new fare and make the necessary arrangements to complete their payments within the stipulated period.

The Board said the reduction would ease the financial burden on intending pilgrims and enable them to make adequate preparations ahead of the pilgrimage.
It also reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring effective coordination of the 2027 Hajj operations, stressing that the welfare and convenience of Edo pilgrims remain a priority.
The Board assured intending pilgrims that it would continue to work with NAHCON and other relevant stakeholders to deliver a smooth, transparent and well-coordinated Hajj operation.
The revised fare comes as state pilgrims’ welfare boards continue to communicate final 2027 Hajj costs to intending pilgrims following the conclusion of fare-related consultations and approvals by NAHCON.
