NAZHAB Commences 2026 Hajj Airlift with Direct Abuja-Medina Flight

NAZHAB, an approved tour operator of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), has commenced the airlift of its first batch of intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage.
The company launched its operation with pilgrims departing aboard an Egyptian Airlines direct flight from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, to Medina.
The departure marks the beginning of NAZHAB’s 2026 Hajj operations as the organization reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a seamless and comfortable journey for all pilgrims.
Speaking on the arrangement, the Managing Director of NAZHAB, Yakubu Danjuma, said the decision to secure a direct Abuja-to-Medina route was aimed at reducing travel time and minimizing stress, particularly for pilgrims and first-time participants.
He explained that dedicated NAZHAB officials were stationed at the airport to assist pilgrims with check-in procedures, travel documentation, and boarding formalities, ensuring an orderly and stress-free departure process.
The atmosphere at the airport was emotional as family members and well-wishers offered prayers and words of encouragement to the departing pilgrims, wishing them a spiritually rewarding and accepted Hajj.
The direct flight arrangement is expected to enable pilgrims settle quickly upon arrival in Medina and begin their spiritual activities without the burden of extended layovers or transit-related delays. Egyptian Airlines is providing the required capacity and comfort to ensure a smooth start to the sacred journey.
Meanwhile, NAZHAB announced that subsequent batches of pilgrims are scheduled to depart on May 19 and May 20, 2026.
The organization also assured that its operational teams in Saudi Arabia are fully prepared to receive the arriving pilgrims and provide essential support services, including accommodation, transportation, orientation, guidance for Ziyarah, and other Hajj rites.
NAZHAB prayed for the safety of all pilgrims and expressed optimism for a successful 2026 Hajj exercise, while wishing all participants an accepted pilgrimage and a safe return home.
