A delegation from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has carried out an inspection of Hajj facilities in Katsina State as part of preparations for the 2026 pilgrimage airlift.

The team, led by Bin Uthman, visited key operational sites to assess the level of readiness and compliance with guidelines required for a smooth Hajj exercise. The inspection focused on infrastructure, logistics, and welfare arrangements put in place for intending pilgrims from the state.

Officials of the Katsina State Pilgrims Welfare Board, led by its Executive Director, Yunusa Abdullahi Dankama, alongside the Board’s Chairman and senior staff, received the delegation and conducted them round the facilities.

Speaking during the visit, Mr Dankama said preparations for the 2026 Hajj were on course, noting that visa processing for the state’s contingent had already been secured. He added that pilgrims’ enlightenment and sensitisation programmes were ongoing to ensure compliance with Hajj guidelines and procedures.

He stressed the Board’s commitment to putting in place all necessary administrative and logistical measures to guarantee the safety, comfort and smooth movement of pilgrims during the exercise.

On his part, Mr Uthman, speaking for NAHCON, expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness observed in the state. He commended the provision of critical facilities, including security arrangements, water supply and other operational tools essential for the effective functioning of the Hajj camp.

The inspection is part of NAHCON’s nationwide assessment of states’ readiness, aimed at ensuring that all stakeholders meet the required standards for a hitch-free 2026 Hajj operation.
