NAHCON Chairman Commiserates with JIBWIS over Death of Sheikh Kaura

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, has paid a condolence visit to the leadership of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) following the death of prominent Islamic scholar, Sheikh Habibu Yahaya Kaura.

 

Professor Usman led the NAHCON delegation to commiserate with the National Leader of JIBWIS, Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau, as well as family of the deceased and the wider Izala community.

 

This was stated in a statement issued by the Technical Assistant (Media), Office of the Chairman, NAHCON, Ahmad Muazu.

 

Speaking during the visit, the NAHCON Chairman said the Commission was deeply saddened by the loss, describing the late Sheikh Kaura as a pillar of Islamic scholarship and a unifying force within the Muslim community.

 

He said, “On behalf of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria and in my personal capacity, I extend our heartfelt condolences to Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau, the leadership of JIBWIS, the family of the deceased and the entire Izala community”.

 

He noted that Sheikh Kaura devoted his life to the propagation of the Sunnah, the promotion of peace and unity among Muslims, and selfless service to the Ummah, stressing that his demise represents a significant loss not only to JIBWIS but to the Nigerian Muslim community at large.

 

“His passing is a great loss to the Ummah. He lived a life of knowledge, discipline and commitment to Islamic values, and his legacy will continue to inspire generations,” the NAHCON Chairman added.

 

Professor Usman also offered prayers for the deceased, asking Allah to forgive his shortcomings, grant him mercy and admit him into Jannatul Firdaus.

 

Responding, the National Leader of JIBWIS, Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau, expressed appreciation to the NAHCON Chairman for the condolence visit, describing it as a mark of solidarity and compassion.

 

“We are grateful for this visit and the concern shown by NAHCON. It is timely and reassuring, and we appreciate the prayers and support extended to the family and the Izala community,” Sheikh Bala Lau said.

 

The visit ended with special prayers for the repose of the soul of Sheikh Kaura and for continued unity, peace and stability within the Muslim Ummah.
