NAHCON Acknowledges States’ Response to 2027 Hajj Preparation Directive

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has acknowledged the response of several State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards, Agencies and Commissions to its directive on preparations for the 1448H/2027 Hajj
Th commission noted that a number of states have commenced the collection of initial deposits from intending pilgrims.
In report filed by Mahmud Babangida Beli, the Commission said the development followed its circular dated June 15, 2026, titled “Commencement of Preparations for 1448H/2027 Hajj Season”.
The circular directed all State Pilgrims Boards, Agencies and Commissions, as well as licensed Private Tour Operators, to immediately begin preparatory activities in line with guidelines issued by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
NAHCON reiterated that the minimum initial deposit for the 2027 Hajj remains N4 million, pending the determination and announcement of the final Hajj fare after consultations with relevant stakeholders and the conclusion of negotiations with service providers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Commission also reaffirmed September 26, 2026, as the deadline for the collection of Hajj fare deposits by all State Pilgrims Boards, Agencies and Commissions and licensed Private Tour Operators to facilitate timely planning and contractual arrangements for the pilgrimage.

While acknowledging the positive response from states that have begun the exercise, NAHCON urged those yet to commence the collection of deposits to expedite preparations in line with the approved timetable.
The Commission advised intending pilgrims to make payments only through their respective State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards, Agencies or Commissions, or licensed Private Tour Operators where applicable.
It also encouraged pilgrims to obtain official receipts for every payment as proof of their transactions.
According to NAHCON, the early commencement of deposit collection is crucial for securing accommodation, transportation, feeding, healthcare and other logistics required for a successful Hajj operation.
The Commission added that early registration by intending pilgrims would enhance coordination and improve service delivery.
NAHCON reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with state pilgrim boards, licensed tour operators and other stakeholders to ensure a seamless, efficient and successful 1448H/2027 Hajj exercise.
