Nigerians planning to perform Umrah have been advised to take urgent precautionary steps to avoid financial losses following widespread flight disruptions across parts of the Middle East.
According to expert, measures such as urgent review travel plans and explore rebooking or refund options should be considered.
The disruption, triggered by escalating regional tensions and airspace restrictions, has forced several airlines to suspend or scale down operations to key transit destinations used by pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia.

Industry experts warn that without swift action, affected pilgrims risk losing airline tickets, accommodation bookings and even their Umrah visas.
Seek Refunds or Change Tickets
Travel operators say pilgrims whose flights have been cancelled should immediately contact their airlines or travel agents to request ticket changes or refunds.
Passengers booked on affected carriers, including Qatar Airways, are advised to explore alternative travel options where possible.
In some cases, travelers may need to purchase fresh tickets on airlines that are still operating flights to Saudi Arabia.
Consider Alternative Airlines
Airlines such as flyadeal, Max Air, Saudia and Ethiopian Airlines are among carriers currently operating selected routes into the Kingdom, providing alternative travel options for affected pilgrims.
Travel consultants say passengers should act quickly to secure seats on available flights, as demand is expected to rise due to the limited number of operating routes.
Verify Flight Status Before Travelling
Prospective pilgrims have also been advised to confirm their flight status before heading to the airport. Aviation analysts note that several connecting hubs in the region, including Dubai, Doha and Abu Dhabi have experienced multiple cancellations and schedule adjustments due to airspace safety concerns.

Monitor Umrah Visa Validity
