Kebbi Remits N21.5bn to NAHCON, Plans Additional N5bn

The Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has remitted N21.5 billion to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for the 2027 Hajj operation and is set to remit an additional N5 billion.
The Executive Chairman of the agency, Alhaji Faruk Aliyu Yaro Enabo, disclosed this on Wednesday when a delegation from NAHCON visited Governor Nasir Idris in Birnin Kebbi as part of preparations for the 2027 Hajj.
Enabo said the state had also recorded the highest number of registered pilgrims in Nigeria, with 3,257 pilgrims registered so far.
He attributed the progress to the strong support and commitment of Governor Idris to Hajj administration and the welfare of pilgrims in the state.
“Whatever we need, whatever we ask the Governor, he cannot spend one minute without approving,” Enabo said, stressing that the agency would continue to strive for excellence in all aspects of Hajj operations.

The financial commitment comes as NAHCON intensifies engagement with state governments and stakeholders ahead of the 2027 Hajj, amid new policies introduced by Saudi Arabian authorities.
Speaking during the visit, NAHCON National Commissioner in charge of the North West and Board Member, Sheikh Muhammad bin Uthman, said governors remained critical stakeholders in ensuring a successful and hitch-free Hajj operation.
He commended Kebbi State for recording the largest number of pilgrims during the previous Hajj operation and for its effective management of pilgrims.
The delegation also briefed the state government on key Saudi guidelines for the 2027 Hajj, including the need for timely registration, electronic uploading of pilgrims’ data and strict compliance with medical fitness requirements.
Governor Idris assured the delegation that Kebbi would continue to collaborate with NAHCON and support reforms designed to improve Hajj operations and pilgrim welfare.
