Kano State Pilgrims Board DG mourns death of Hajj Committee Chairman, Another Lawmaker

Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board Director General Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa has expressed grief over the deaths of two serving members of the Kano State House of Assembly, including the chairman of the House Committee on Hajj.

In a statement released by the board, Danbappa mourned Sarki Aliyu Daneji, who represented Kano Municipal Constituency and chaired the Assembly’s Hajj Committee, and Aminu Sa’ad, the lawmaker representing Ungogo Constituency.

The board described Daneji as a key legislative figure in Hajj oversight, noting his regular engagement with pilgrim welfare issues and his role in strengthening coordination between the Assembly and Hajj management institutions in the state.

Danbappa said the deaths were a major loss to the Kano State House of Assembly, the affected constituencies, and the wider state, particularly at a time when legislative oversight of pilgrimage operations remains a sensitive public issue.

Condolences were extended to Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Speaker of the House of Assembly Jibril Isma’ila Falgore, the families of the deceased lawmakers, and their legislative colleagues.

The statement also offered prayers for mercy and strength for the families and communities affected by the deaths, in line with Islamic traditions observed by public institutions in the state.
