The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has reiterated that 25 September 2026 remains the final deadline for the payment of the Hajj deposit and registration for the 2027 pilgrimage, warning that no intending pilgrim will be allocated a seat after the closing date.

Director General of the Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, gave the warning during a meeting with Hajj Centre Officers from the 44 Local Government Areas held at the Board’s Conference Hall in Kano.

A statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the board, Sulaiman Dederi, disclosed that Matawalle reminded the officers that the Board had earlier fixed N8 million as the initial Hajj deposit for the 2027 pilgrimage and announced 25 September as the official deadline for completing the registration process.

He directed the local government Hajj officers to intensify public sensitisation and ensure that all intending pilgrims in their respective areas are fully informed of the deadline, stressing that the Board would not entertain late payments or registrations.

According to the Director General, the Board will not extend the registration period under any circumstances, adding that prospective pilgrims who fail to complete their payments before the deadline risk losing the opportunity to participate in the 2027 Hajj.

He urged intending pilgrims to take advantage of the remaining registration window by fulfilling all payment and documentation requirements promptly to secure their Hajj seats.

Matawalle also reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to conducting a smooth, transparent and well-coordinated Hajj exercise in line with national and international guidelines governing the pilgrimage.

He called on all stakeholders, particularly the Local Government Hajj Centre Officers, to continue supporting the Board’s efforts by providing accurate information and guiding prospective pilgrims through the registration process.

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has consistently urged intending pilgrims to comply with registration requirements early, as preparations for the 2027 Hajj gather momentum ahead of the nationwide registration deadline.
