Kano Pilgrims Board Confirms Receipt of 2026 Hajj Visas, Dismisses Rumours

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has confirmed that visas for all registered intending pilgrims from the state for 2026 Hajj have been successfully received and printed.
The board assured stakeholders that there are no issues affecting the visa process, as contained in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the board, Sulaiman A Dederi.
According to him, the Director General (DG) of the Board, Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, disclosed this while speaking from the Saudi Arabia, where officials are currently coordinating preparations ahead of the annual pilgrimage.

He stated that the DG said, all registered pilgrims from Kano State have had their visas printed and duly attached to their international passports, clearing the way for their participation in the 2026 Hajj exercise.
Matawalle emphasized that the Board is not experiencing any delay or technical challenge regarding visa issuance, contrary to rumours circulating in some quarters.
He therefore urged intending pilgrims and members of the public to disregard any claims suggesting setbacks in the visa process, warning against the spread of unverified information, fake online links and misleading messages capable of creating unnecessary anxiety.
The Director General further explained that officials of the Board are presently in the Kingdom working closely with relevant authorities to finalize logistical arrangements aimed at ensuring a seamless pilgrimage for pilgrims from the state.
He reiterated the Board’s commitment to safeguarding the welfare, safety and proper coordination of all Kano pilgrims throughout the Hajj operations.
The assurance comes as preparations for the 2026 Hajj continue across Nigerian states, with authorities intensifying efforts to ensure smooth travel, accommodation and religious activities for pilgrims in the holy land.
