Kano Fixes 2027 Hajj Fare at N7m, Maintains August 25 Registration Deadline

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has fixed the final fare for the 2027 Hajj at N7 million per pilgrim and maintained August 25, 2026, as the deadline for registration.
The Director-General of the Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, announced the fare and deadline on Tuesday during a press briefing at the Board’s Conference Hall in Kano.
Matawalle said each intending pilgrim from Kano State would pay N7 million for the pilgrimage, following the finalisation of the Hajj fare.
He also urged intending pilgrims who have yet to complete their registration or submit their international passports to do so before the August 25 deadline.
The Director-General warned that the Board would not extend the registration period beyond the stipulated date, urging pilgrims and other stakeholders to comply with the directive to avoid difficulties during the Hajj preparations.
He said the Board remained committed to providing efficient services to intending pilgrims and ensuring effective coordination for a smooth and successful pilgrimage operation.

The announcement comes as preparations for the 2027 Hajj gather pace, with Nigerian pilgrims expected to complete key registration and documentation requirements ahead of operational deadlines set by the relevant authorities.
Matawalle urged intending pilgrims to treat the registration deadline as final and complete all outstanding requirements promptly.
The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board also advised pilgrims to obtain accurate information directly from the Board and follow all official instructions throughout the registration and preparation process.
The Board said timely completion of registration and submission of required documents would help facilitate effective planning and service delivery for Kano pilgrims during the 2027 Hajj.
