Kano Directs 2027 Hajj Pilgrims to Submit Passports Before August 7

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has directed all registered intending pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj to submit their valid international passports between August 3 and August 7, 2026, as part of preparations for the pilgrimage.
The Board’s Director General, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, announced the directive while speaking with journalists on Monday, saying the exercise would enable the Board to commence documentation and other administrative procedures required for the 2027 Hajj operation.
Matawalle explained that the early collection of passports would facilitate the timely processing of travel documents and ensure compliance with deadlines set by the relevant authorities responsible for Hajj arrangements.
He noted that the measure forms part of the Board’s efforts to streamline preparations, minimise delays, and ensure that all registered pilgrims complete the necessary documentation well ahead of the pilgrimage.
The Director General urged all affected pilgrims to comply with the directive by submitting their passports within the specified period, warning that late submission could delay the processing of their Hajj travel documents.
According to him, prompt compliance will strengthen the Board’s planning process and support the smooth execution of activities leading to the 2027 pilgrimage.

The Board reiterated its commitment to delivering efficient and quality services to intending pilgrims throughout the preparation period, assuring them that the passport submission exercise is designed to enhance operational efficiency and improve service delivery.
The directive comes as Hajj administrators across Nigeria intensify preparations for the 2027 pilgrimage following the release of key timelines by Saudi authorities for registration, documentation, and visa processing.
The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board appealed to all registered pilgrims to cooperate fully with officials handling the exercise, stressing that early completion of documentation remains essential to a successful Hajj operation.
