The Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has commenced preparations for the airlift of intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj with the training of officials selected to serve pilgrims during the exercise.

This was contained in a statement issued by the agency’s Public Relations Officer of the Agency, Ibrahim Datti.

He explained that the training session, held in Kaduna on Thursday, brought together appointed officials ahead of the state’s inaugural flight to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia scheduled for May 14, 2026.

Speaking during the exercise, the Executive Chairman of the Agency, Salihu S. Abubakar, urged the officials to demonstrate discipline, professionalism, and commitment throughout the pilgrimage operation.

He reminded participants that they would be representing the agency, the Kaduna State Government, and the people of the state during the Hajj exercise, stressing the need for patience, honesty, and dedication in the discharge of their responsibilities.

The chairman also emphasized the importance of treating pilgrims with fairness, compassion, and respect, noting that the welfare and comfort of intending pilgrims must remain the agency’s top priority.

According to him, effective coordination and teamwork among officials would be critical to ensuring smooth operations from departure to return.

He further directed the officials to comply strictly with the operational guidelines governing Hajj activities both in Nigeria and in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

During the training, participants received briefings on key operational areas, including pilgrims’ welfare management, emergency response procedures.

Datti further disclosed that other areas include accommodation coordination, transportation logistics, health and safety measures, and communication protocols in the Holy Land.

The agency said the exercise forms part of broader preparations aimed at ensuring that Kaduna pilgrims perform the pilgrimage in a safe, organized, and spiritually fulfilling environment.

The Agency reaffirmed its commitment to providing efficient services and ensuring a hitch-free 2026 Hajj exercise for intending pilgrims from the state.
