Kaduna Moves Pilgrims’ Luggage to Jiddah Ahead of Return Flight

The Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has commenced the transportation of pilgrims’ luggage to King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah ahead of the state’s first return flight from Saudi Arabia following the completion of the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage.
The agency announced that the inaugural return flight will depart at 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, carrying 345 Kaduna pilgrims back to Nigeria after they successfully completed the annual Islamic pilgrimage.
The Public Relations Officer of the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Ibrahim Datti disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday.
According to the him, the luggage transportation exercise forms part of preparations aimed at ensuring a seamless and efficient return operation for pilgrims.
By moving baggage to the airport ahead of departure, officials hope to streamline check-in procedures, facilitate faster airport clearance, and minimize delays during the airlift process.
The agency noted that the initiative reflects its commitment to providing pilgrims with a smooth travel experience from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia back to their respective destinations in Kaduna State.
As part of the preparations, the agency urged all pilgrims scheduled on the first flight to strictly adhere to approved baggage regulations and prescribed weight limits.
Datti emphasized that compliance with the guidelines would help prevent disruptions and ensure timely processing of luggage at the airport.
The agency further advised pilgrims to remain attentive to instructions issued by Hajj officials and airline personnel throughout the departure process.
It stressed that cooperation from pilgrims would contribute significantly to the success of the return operation.
The commencement of luggage transportation marks another key stage in Kaduna State’s post-Hajj arrangements as authorities intensify efforts to facilitate the safe and orderly return of pilgrims.
Datti, assured that the agency remains focused on ensuring efficient logistics and passenger handling throughout the return airlift exercise.
The return flights will continue in phases until all Kaduna pilgrims are successfully transported back to Nigeria.
