The Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has sought the support of the Ministry for Local Government Affairs to deepen sensitisation on the 2027 Hajj registration exercise across the state’s 23 local government areas.

Ibrahim Datti, Public Relations Officer, Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, disclosed this in a statement.

The Executive Chairman of the Agency, Malam Salihu S. Abubakar, made the appeal when he led the management on a courtesy visit to the ministry as part of the Agency’s ongoing sensitisation and advocacy campaign for the 2027 pilgrimage.

Receiving the delegation, the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Hon. Sadiq Amman Lagos, was briefed on the Agency’s efforts to ensure that intending pilgrims receive accurate and timely information on the registration process, payment procedures, deadlines and other requirements for the pilgrimage.

The Agency identified the ministry as a strategic stakeholder in the campaign, given its direct link with local government councils and communities across Kaduna State.

Abubakar stressed the need for stronger collaboration among government institutions to ensure that intending pilgrims are properly guided and protected from misinformation and fraudulent activities during the registration process.

He therefore urged the ministry to facilitate the extension of the sensitisation campaign to grassroots communities through the various local government councils.

The Executive Chairman said effective coordination between the Agency, the ministry and local government authorities would help improve public awareness and enable intending pilgrims to comply with relevant requirements ahead of the 2027 Hajj.

The visit forms part of the Agency’s broader efforts to strengthen inter-agency cooperation and ensure a transparent, orderly and successful Hajj operation for Kaduna pilgrims.

The Agency said sustained grassroots engagement would remain central to its strategy of providing intending pilgrims with reliable information and reducing the risk of avoidable challenges during the pilgrimage.
