Officials of the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (KSPWA) have conducted an on-the-spot assessment of Pilgrims’ Enlightenment (Bita) Centers in Igabi and Kaduna North Local Government Areas (LGA) as the program entered its fourth week.

The monitoring visit, which took place on Saturday, January 24, 2026, was aimed at evaluating the quality, structure, and effectiveness of the ongoing pilgrims’ enlightenment exercise, Bita, ahead of the 2026 Hajj operations.

This revealed in a statement, issued by the Public Relations Office (PRO) of the agency, Ibrahim Datti Makarfi. He explained that the delegation was led by the Director of Enlightenment, Alhaji Abubakar Alhassan, alongside a Staff Officer, Hajiya Rakiya Ladan, and the PRO.

Speaking during the visit, Alhaji Alhassan said the Agency was encouraged by the level of commitment shown by intending pilgrims across the centers.

“We are impressed by the turnout, discipline, and seriousness demonstrated by the pilgrims. The sessions are well-organized, and the facilitators are delivering the required content effectively,” he said.

He stressed that the enlightenment program is a core pillar of KSPWA’s Hajj preparedness strategy, designed to eliminate knowledge gaps and reduce operational challenges during the pilgrimage.

“This program is structured to prepare pilgrims spiritually, mentally, and practically. Our objective is to ensure they understand the rites of Hajj, the rules governing the exercise, and the expected conduct while in the holy land,” Alhassan noted.

The Director further urged intending pilgrims to maintain consistent attendance and actively engage during the sessions.

“Pilgrims must attend all lectures and ask questions where clarification is needed. Proper understanding at this stage translates to a smooth and hitch-free Hajj experience,” he added.

The PRO stated that while, reaffirmed its commitment to delivering a robust enlightenment program, the Agency assured that it would continue to intensify monitoring and quality control across all enlightenment centers to guarantee optimal outcomes for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
