Indonesia will commence airlift operations for the 2027 Hajj on April 11, with the first batch of pilgrims scheduled to arrive in Madinah, as authorities release a comprehensive timetable covering departures, pilgrimage rites and return flights.
Pilgrims will begin entering Hajj dormitories on April 10, a day before the first flight, under a schedule issued by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah through Decree No. 26 of 2026.
The timetable covers the 1448 AH Hajj season and follows Saudi Arabia’s Umm Al-Qura calendar.
Ministry Secretary-General Teguh Dwi Nugroho announced the schedule in Jakarta on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, saying it would guide coordination among agencies responsible for pilgrim transportation and services.
He said the timetable was designed to ensure orderly movement and effective coordination at every stage of the pilgrimage. According to the schedule, Indonesia’s outbound airlift will run for 30 days in two waves.
The first wave will transport pilgrims to Madinah from April 11 to 25, while the second wave will depart for Jeddah from April 26 to May 10, 2027. Each pilgrim is expected to spend approximately 38 to 40 days in Saudi Arabia.

The main Hajj rites will begin with the movement of pilgrims from Makkah to Arafah on May 14. Wukuf, the central rite of Hajj, is scheduled for May 15, followed by Eid-el-Kabir on May 16 and the Days of Tashreeq from May 17 to 19.
Return flights will also operate in two waves over 30 days. The first wave will depart from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah between May 21 and June 4, with the first return flight scheduled for May 21.
The second wave will depart from Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Airport in Madinah from June 5 to 20, completing Indonesia’s planned Hajj airlift operations.
Nugroho stressed that issuing a timetable alone would not guarantee smooth operations, urging all stakeholders to understand their respective responsibilities and implementation stages.
He said effective coordination among the agencies involved would be essential to delivering orderly services throughout the pilgrimage.
Indonesia’s early release of its 2027 schedule provides a framework for transportation, accommodation and operational planning ahead of the next Hajj season.
