India Extends 2027 Hajj Application Deadline, Fixes July 30 for Pilgrims’ Ballot

The Hajj Committee of India (HCoI) has extended the deadline for online applications for the 2027 Haj pilgrimage to July 24, 2026, giving intending pilgrims additional time to complete their registration.
The committee announced the extension in a circular issued on Monday, stating that it would not grant any further extension under any circumstances.
According to the circular, the decision followed numerous requests from State and Union Territory Hajj Committees, particularly those from under-quota states.
The committee explained that many intending pilgrims had been unable to submit their applications because they were still awaiting the issuance of their passports.
The HCoI also announced that it will conduct the Qurrah, the digital random selection process for Hajj 2027 pilgrims, from 11:00 a.m. on July 30, 2026, at the Committee Room of Hajj House in Mumbai.
The committee said it would livestream the selection exercise on its official website to ensure transparency throughout the process.
Following the draw, the Hajj Committee will publish the names of provisionally selected and waitlisted applicants on its website. It will also notify applicants of their status through SMS.

The circular further directed all provisionally selected pilgrims to pay an advance Hajj amount of ₹152,300 on or before August 10, 2026, to secure their allocation.
In addition, the committee instructed all State and Union Territory Hajj Committees to intensify public awareness efforts by widely disseminating the contents of the circular through appropriate communication channels.
The HCoI also directed the committees to complete the scrutiny of Hajj applications and generate pilgrimage covers by July 25, 2026, to facilitate the timely processing of applications ahead of the digital selection exercise.
The circular was signed by the Chief Executive Officer of the HCoI, Shanvas C., IAS, and copied to relevant officials, including the Ministry of Minority Affairs, the Consulate General of India in Jeddah, and all State and Union Territory Haj Committees.
