Hajj 2026: Kano Governor Donates 200 SAR, Ihram, Urges Pilgrims to Uphold Discipline

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has urged intending pilgrims from Kano State to uphold discipline and serve as worthy ambassadors of the state and Nigeria during the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The governor gave the charge during a practical demonstration session for intending pilgrims at the Hajj Camp ahead of their departure to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
This was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mustapha Muhammad.
Represented by his deputy, Murtala Sule Garo, Governor Yusuf said the conduct of pilgrims would reflect the image and values of Kano State and Nigeria before the global Muslim community.
He advised the pilgrims to demonstrate discipline, humility, brotherhood, and peaceful coexistence throughout their stay in the Holy Land.
“You are going to a land where millions of Muslims from across the world will gather. Let your conduct reflect the true spirit of Islam.
Respect the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and adhere strictly to the guidelines provided by officials,” the governor stated.
As part of the state government’s support package for the pilgrimage, Governor Yusuf approved a donation of 200 Saudi Riyals to each intending pilgrim to support their stay during the Hajj exercise.
The governor also provided free Ihram materials to all pilgrims, while the deputy governor distributed samples to some beneficiaries at the Hajj Camp.
Earlier, the Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, commended the governor for his continued support toward the success of the 2026 Hajj operations.
Matawalle disclosed that the board secured visas for all registered pilgrims despite operational challenges encountered during the preparation process.
He also announced that the first batch of pilgrims from Kano State will depart for Madinah on May 14, 2026.
