The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has screened and immunized 1,253 intending pilgrims as part of its preparations for the 2026 Hajj.

 

The head of the medical team, Dr. Aminu Da’u, disclosed this in a statement issued by the board’s Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Dederi, on Thursday in Kano.

 

According to the statement, the exercise which took place at the Hajj Camp Clinic,  covered intending pilgrims drawn from 20 local government areas across the state.

 

Da’u explained that the screening and immunization drive is designed to ensure that all intending pilgrims meet required medical standards and comply with national and international health regulations governing Hajj operations.

 

He emphasized that the exercise is critical to safeguarding the health and well-being of pilgrims throughout the pilgrimage.

 

The medical team is conducting the process in phases to accommodate all registered pilgrims in the state.

 

Da’u assured that qualified healthcare professionals are managing the exercise in line with established medical protocols.

 

He reaffirmed the board’s commitment to delivering a seamless Hajj operation, with priority placed on the health, safety and welfare of all intending pilgrims.

 

The screening and immunization program will continue as scheduled to cover the remaining pilgrims.
