Hajj 2026: Jigawa Seeks Seamless Immigration Support for Pilgrims

The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has called on the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to ensure efficient and hitch-free processing of intending pilgrims for 2026 Hajj at the airport.
The call was made by the Director General (DG) of the Board, Ahmad Labbo, during a strategic meeting held at the Board’s headquarters.
Labbo and the Stated Comptroller of the NIS, Tahir Musa discussed enhanced security protocols and logistics for the upcoming Hajj operation.
The DG stressed that the deployment of advanced screening technology and the adoption of streamlined clearance procedures are critical to eliminating bottlenecks during outbound formalities.
He noted that proactive operational upgrades would minimise delays, accelerate passenger processing, and guarantee timely boarding for pilgrims.
He also underscored the importance of inter-agency collaboration, urging security agencies to sustain coordinated efforts to protect pilgrims and their belongings during transit from the Hajj camp to the airport.
“The safety and dignity of our pilgrims are paramount,” the Director General stated, commending security personnel for their consistent professionalism and commitment to delivering a smooth exercise.
On his part, the State Comptroller of the NIS, Mr Musa, reaffirmed the agency’s readiness to partner with the Board.
He pledged “100 per cent support” to ensure secure, efficient, and orderly processing throughout the 2026 Hajj operations.
The renewed commitment is part of early institutional alignment among key stakeholders, being initiated by Jigawa state to deliver a seamless pilgrimage experience for its contingent.
