Governor Yusuf Welcomes Returning Kano Pilgrims, Commends Hajj Officials

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has welcomed the fourth batch of pilgrims from the state returning from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia after successfully completing the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage.
The governor received the pilgrims on Sunday at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), where he expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting them a safe journey and successful completion of the religious obligation.
A statement issued by the Governor’s spokesman, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, said Governor Yusuf praised the Amirul Hajj and Emir of Gaya, Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, for providing effective leadership throughout the pilgrimage.
He noted that the emir’s guidance, commitment and coordination played a significant role in ensuring the smooth management of Kano pilgrims in the Holy Land.
Governor Yusuf also commended the management of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board for what he described as a successful and professionally executed Hajj operation.
According to him, the board demonstrated dedication and competence in handling the welfare and logistics of pilgrims, contributing to the overall success of the exercise.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the welfare, comfort and safety of pilgrims from the state.
He expressed satisfaction with reports received regarding the conduct of the 2026 Hajj and the services provided to Kano pilgrims during their stay in Saudi Arabia.
Addressing the returning pilgrims, Governor Yusuf urged them to uphold the virtues of patience, discipline, sacrifice and devotion acquired during the pilgrimage.
He encouraged them to continue praying for peace, unity and prosperity in Kano State and Nigeria, stressing that the lessons of Hajj should extend beyond the completion of religious rites and positively influence their daily conduct and interactions with others.
The governor also wished the pilgrims joyful reunions with their families and prayed for Allah to accept their Hajj and other acts of worship.
The return of pilgrims to Kano continues as authorities conclude arrangements for the remaining inbound flights from Saudi Arabia.
