Gombe Hajj Board Opens 2027 Pilgrimage Payments, Urges Early Registration

The Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the commencement of payments for the 2027 Hajj exercise, urging intending pilgrims to take advantage of the early registration window to avoid last-minute challenges.
The Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Sa’adu Hassan, disclosed this shortly after arriving at the Gombe International Airport with the second and final batch of Gombe pilgrims returning from the 2026 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
According to him, the board has discontinued the practice of fixing a specific date for the commencement of Hajj payments, noting that prospective pilgrims can now begin making deposits at any time.
“I want to use this opportunity to say that there will be no specific day set aside in the future to start payments for Hajj. Right now, you can go and pay even from this coming Monday.
The door is open and our account is open for anyone intending to perform Hajj in 2027,” Hassan said.
He explained that the success recorded during the 2026 pilgrimage was largely due to early preparations by the board and the pilgrims, which enabled them to complete critical arrangements ahead of schedule.
“We went early before the rush. We achieved a smooth and successful Hajj operation through early preparation, and we encourage intending pilgrims to follow the same path,” he added.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Board and Emir of Dukku, Alhaji Haruna Abdulqadir Rashid, called on prospective pilgrims to begin their payments as soon as possible.
“My main advice is that prospective pilgrims should begin making their payments as early as possible. That is the most important call I would like to make at this time,” the traditional ruler said.
The appeal came as the state concluded the return of its pilgrims from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, following the successful completion of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
