Edo Govt Sets September 26 Deadline for 2027 Hajj Registration

The Chairman of the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mallam Musa Muhammad Uduimoh, has announced September 26, 2026, as the deadline for registration and payment for the 2027 Hajj exercise, stressing that there will be no extension beyond the stipulated date.
Mallam Uduimoh made the announcement on Friday while addressing members of the Muslim community at a gathering in Jattu, Uzairue, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
He explained that the Saudi Hajj authorities fixed the registration deadline, not the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) or the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board.
“This decision is from the Saudi Hajj Authority. It is not within the control of NAHCON or the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board,’ he said.
The chairman also disclosed that the board would give priority to intending pilgrims who completed payment but could not secure slots for the 2026 Hajj exercise during the allocation of slots for the 2027 pilgrimage.
He urged all prospective pilgrims to begin payment without delay to ensure they meet the September 26, 2026 deadline.

In a related development, the Executive Secretary of the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Eranga Abdulkabir Muhammadkabir, expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the successful conduct of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
“Alhamdulillah for a safe and successful journey. May Almighty Allah accept our Hajj as an act of worship and reward us abundantly. Ameen,” he said.
He also announced that registration for the 2027 Hajj exercise has officially commenced and advised intending pilgrims to visit the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board for enquiries and registration.
The board urged prospective pilgrims to begin the registration process early to avoid missing the September 26 deadline, noting that preparations for the 2027 Hajj exercise are already underway.
