Edo Board Begins Distribution of Hajj Materials, Vaccination Exercise April 25

The Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the commencement of the distribution of uniforms, travel bags, and vaccination for intending pilgrims ahead of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
In a statement issued by the Executive Secretary, Eranga Abdulkabir Muhammadkabir, the exercise is scheduled to begin on Saturday, April 25, 2026, for pilgrims from Edo South Senatorial District.
The event will take place at the Hajj Board premises located at 2/3 Ugomosun Street, off Dumez Road in Benin City, starting at 9:00 a.m.
The Board further disclosed that intending pilgrims from Edo Central and Edo North Senatorial Districts will undergo the same process on Sunday, April 26, 2026.
The designated venues are Irrua Central Mosque, located opposite the palace in Irrua, and Arafat Mosque in Auchi, with activities also scheduled to commence at 9:00 a.m.
According to the statement, the exercise will include screening, orientation, and vaccination, to be conducted by the 2026 Hajj medical team in collaboration with the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria and relevant state officials.
The Board emphasized that attendance is mandatory for all intending pilgrims, as the process forms a critical component of preparations for the pilgrimage.
The announcement underscores ongoing efforts by authorities to ensure a seamless and well-coordinated Hajj operation for Edo State pilgrims in 2026.
